That screengrab looks like it's from a iTunes 1080p download. That can't be from the Mill Creek Blu, right? I've never seen compression issues from MC THIS BAD!

If so, then GOOD GOD! Yes, Sony's upcoming BD should be an improvement even if they skimp on compression standards being lower than usual.

It looks even worse than the screengrabs in motion. The DVD easily beats it so yes it's that bad.

One of my favorite 80's films.

easy Day 1 purchase. The Mill Creek BD is almost unwatchable, it doesn't even look better than the DVD.

I bought the Mill Creek just to compete my VHS slip collection. If I find this release cheap I'll replace it but I've never seen the movie so it's not a priority

SONY is such a weird studio when it comes to deep catalog titles on Blu-ray. Take this film for example: They license it to a budget label who releases a dreadful disc. Why license it when you have your own release planned? Some folks aren't going to bother double dipping. And it's probably going to be barebones but then they give something like Just One Of the Guys a special edition. It's all just so random with this studio. Why license some films but release others yourself?

Agreed, but good thing I didn't spring for that Shit Creek release. I did get Vice Versa though, but that one wasn't a crapfest presentation.

To test out the waters possibly to see if it would sell well enough to release it themselves. They did this also with Punchline and High School High.

I hope they release The Freshman themselves as well.

This is why I don't really buy Mill Creek Blu-rays. Too much compression and sloppy encoding.

Sony's goofy, just like the pressed disc of real genius which had a commentary. I refused to pay $27 at the time and now it's out of print and you can't find it anywhere. From what I read the quality sucked but the commentary was good. I don't understand why they can't slap a 15-dollar price point on it and keep it out there. Maybe shout will get their hands on it. I guarantee they'll be no features on Like Father. Maybe Sean Astin would do a zoom interview...lol Too raunchy for Kirk Cameron to talk about the director and Dudley Moore are gone and the blonde actress in it is out of the movie business all together.
