I actually like this steelbook. Even though it looks like Jason is wearing a slicker on the cover.

siggghh... we have the common problem of the artists here not actually being fans. That looks like Roy's mask instead of Jason's mask. Hopefully the French version looks different but im not holding my breath. Still better than the Shout box art though

Well it's just that I've never associated orange and royal blue as a color scheme for Friday the 13th. This at least has a more correct color scheme.

This art work actually has some upsides. Very creative. I would be happy if Ted White was on the front and on the back they used either Richard Brooker or Ted White instead of Roy. The worst part of the steel is that inner artwork. Gonna be a hard decision to get this or continue using my modified Friday the 13th (1980) steel. Im currently leaning towards the latter.

It's a "common problem" because people who work at design companies can't be fanboys of every single thing out there.

It’s the Jason Takes Manhattan mask, minus the gash on top.

It probably has something to do with Warner Bros owning the series / Jason currently. Paramount can still use stuff from A New Beginning.

Pfft. Why is Paramount so high on milking this series right now, while the SF box set is in print and widely available? Individual Steelbooks, new 8-film collection set, 8-film Steelbook; it's all a bunch of redundant crap. Just keep the previous ~$20 8-film set in print as a cheap alternative to the SF. No reason to issue anything new until the SF has run its course.

Because when you can’t release a new film due to court lawsuits, the only choice they have left is to constantly repackage and release their original eight movies.

Urgh I already have the shout factory release collection from last year(which I haven't open yet) and I also have the Friday the 13th part one steelbook so I will probably pass on this but Im also a sucker for steelbooks.

From the pic it looks like the discs may be stacked 1-4 on one side, and 5-8 on the other side. I could be wrong though.

Not necessarily. The individual Steelbooks have been tied to their 40th anniversaries so far, so we won't really know about a third release until next year.
