Well deserved! Kudos to one of the greatest rock and roll front men of all time! Diamond Dave just OOZED charisma and sex appeal! The dudes wanted to be him and the chicks wanted to be with him! Enjoy your retirement Dave! You've certainly earned it!

I'm glad that I saw him in his prime in the 1980's with VH and solo a few times, and even some shows after his re-joining VH with Wolfgang in recent years.

That's a very sweet gesture by them but being the intense Van Halen fanboy that I am, I feel that it's a little understated. A plaque is nice but the man deserves a statue!

The first time I saw VH, they were on the bill as "TBA" and opened the show. Never heard of them before.

The warmup band was Montrose.

And the main act was Journey.

Tickets were $4.96.
