A huge step down from the cool design of the 2018 release.

But on the plus side the one for Halloween Kills gives off a Grindhouse feel. Still hate it though!

I saw an advance screening last night. It should be a nice lead-in to Halloween Ends next year, but I think I'll reserve buying it until I see that film and decide whether they complete a fine three-film arc overall. I do have the 2018 film, by the way.

Unlike Halloween (2018), this movie doesn't have any daytime scenes. Black levels and shadow detail will be extremely important for this transfer.

Nay, it would’ve looked a lot better if it had dark orange instead of so much red. I’ll stick with the standard 4K

As much as I want this, it makes no sense for me. I don't have the others H(78), H2 (just got the new SF releases), or H(2018) in steelbook format.

It's an additional scene involving Laurie which follows on from what happened right at the end of the film

I read it as a different ending and that's it. The "director's cut" is what you're seeing in theaters--it's just the ending that was lifted and now available when it releases on blu.

I just skimmed through the script (this isn't the final shooting script but darn close) and saw no major deleted scenes anywhere except the last scene so I think it's just the "extended ending."

I think there is talk of a time jump for the third film. I'm guessing they weren't 100% sure where they were going to enter the third chapter of the story. So since this deleted ending makes it seems like

they scrapped it because there won't be an immediate follow up as a result of the time jump in the third film.
