Being a diehard RE fan since 1997, I’m sure I’ll pick this up. Trailer looks like goofy fun, but the director is clearly following the narrative and spirit of the games.

Not sure where you're located, but I can assure you that there's a whole other world surrounding it. Cinemas are open in plenty of places.

Open or not, it's still way too soon to list a preorder for a movie that was just released today theatrically. There is no other website that has prematurely posted a preorder for a brand-new theatrical release on the same day of its premier, but Blu-ray.com. The first day of showing is not even over yet! No retailer has an official release date for the blu-ray and 4K UHD release of this movie, and this website have posted the preorder already. What's the freakin hurry.

Without spoilers, was it on par with the other RE movies or more faithful adaption with actual scares and less action? Debating whether to go see it or wait for streaming.

It's absolutely nothing like the previous RE films. The only thing that's on par with the previous series, is Claire's red jacket. If you're a fan of the original video games, it's worth watching in a theater and giving it a fair shot.

Here's a fun challenge, open to anyone... (try to) watch Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, and then go see this new movie!

I totally geeked out when the title appeared on screen with the same red bold letters as in the original PS1 game.

Lifelong RE fan and loved this movie, the amount of hate is insane. Can't wait for the 4k, and I actually really like Final Chapter, one of the few I guess.

This has to make what Mortal Kombat 21 made right? That made 85 million world-wide I believe.amd this has more theaters open, if it can crack 100 million world-wide we will get a sequel.

It only cost 25 million thankfully. I haven't seen it yet but the trailers look promising. I know reactions have been mixed but the last RE film grossed 26 million in the US alone but was an OS hit. With no Milla Jovovich, I guess the appeal isn't there to general audiences.

I can see it do much better on VOD and co though. This would have been a good fit for streaming.

It was much more faithful to the source material for sure. I personally think its better then any of the previous Resident Evil movies (although I do enjoy the first one. The rest...no thanks).

I'll pick this one up day one. Just dumb broad fun and we actually get like Resident Evil characters and scenarios in a movie. I dunno, I appreciate how schlocky this one was.
