We are also getting the sequel. It's not on 4K blu-ray, but it is on blu-ray.

Not going to get excited (not even going to pre-order actually, just to be safe). All the Halloween 4Ks had compression problems, and both They Live and Prince of Darkness were compressed in the wrong color gamuts.

The chances this is going to be borked too are pretty high. And it sucks because the restorations are usually great but they get ruined by these compression errors.

I love Alligator, and I love upgrading straight from DVD to UHD. A definite preorder for me (along with the sequel)!

The Halloween's, They Live, and Prince of Darkness looked fine to me. Pre-ordered Howling and Alligator just now.

Both They Live and Prince of Darkness used Studio Canal’s 4K restoration. But they mastered them in a smaller color gamut, than the one originally restored in, that resulted in faded and under-saturated colors. All the Halloween 4K have problems rendering the film grain naturally. And some had some pretty severe macroblocking issues in some scenes. The Dolby Vision layer helped a bit but the compression still wasn’t great, and not everyone can play Dolby Vision.

If you go to the Halloween threads you’ll find plenty of discussions, as well as a few screenshots, of those issues.

I'm aware of other's issues. I just don't see the issues in motion.
