Default David Letterman launches YouTube channel devoted to both of his late night TV shows

David Letterman has launched a YouTube channel devoted to both of his late night TV shows:

Quote:
Welcome to the Letterman YouTube Channel, home to all your favorite clips from Late Night and Late Show - as well as conversations with the writers, producers and performers who helped make it all happen. These highlights have been artisanly-produced, carefully-curated, and chosen completely at random by an old computer that used to pick numbers for the New York Lotto back in the 90’s.

My sister - home from college - introduced me to Late Night with David Letterman in the Summer of 1985. Thanks to the timer on my VCR, I never missed an episode of his NBC show. I was obsessed with Letterman. During the student council election my sophomore year, I put up VOTE FOR DAVE flyers all over the school. I even had a Late Night sweatshirt.

This is very cool news!

Yeah the NBC show was the best. Nothing since has come close to equaling it. I wonder how he got the rights to the NBC shows. I think he only owns the CBS shows. I wish we could get complete NBC shows like NBC used to rerun on their defunct Trio cable channel.

NBC Afterschool Special: "They Took My Show Away."

As if I don't have enough to watch already, I'll be wasting a lot of time on this YouTube channel. I would love for a comprehensive best-of Blu-Ray or DVD set of full length episodes. Probably too many rights issues with the music performances, but I can dream...

Letterman's NBC show was night & day different for me from the CBS show. Same thing happened to Conan - it just never worked the same after leaving 6A. Will be awesome to see some of those old clips looking and sounding better.

It's happening! The bad news: you need to have a Samsung TV or Samsung mobile device.

All the musical performances are worth it.

It'd be neat to see stuff from his morning show from 1980, apart from the low-quality YT uploads. I can clearly remember watching it and getting a kick out of it, even though I was only 7. Guess I had good taste even back then.
