That's interesting news, thanks. It'll be interesting to see how they handle this reboot of the game.

The King of Fighters already often includes the cast from Fatal Fury including Mai Shiranui, so I wonder if they'll really try to separate it from those updated games.

I had Fatal Fury 2 on the Genesis, and over the years, played compilations of the FFury games. They're interesting with the three brothers and Mai, but I'm not a big fan of the 2 planes to fight on, foreground and background with the press of a button. It over complicates the fight. I rather just have brawler controls if I'm going to be fighting on a plane like that.

I thought the Samurai Shodown remake was okay, but missing the charm and controls of the incredible Shodown 1 and 2, and 4, 5, 6. And the art style was decent but not ideal, not as colorful.

Will be interesting to see if they try something new with this series.
The Bogards brothers and Mai Shiranui are expected to be in the game, but how many versions can fans be expected to play of the same characters? That could be said of any fighting series.

Street Fighter 6 tried something totally new with the open city exploration, which was really a welcome change of pace IMO, where you can fight anyone almost.

I guess the art style is more like a comic book style than prior games, with the black lines around the characters and shading. Samurai Shodown remake is like that too.

I queued the beta for download, but I’m not sure how much I’ll be able to play this weekend. I’m going to install the PS4 version so I can use my old fight pad.
