Could swear there was an existing DVD Movies discussion thread for Australian boutique label Via Vision (there is the existing Blu-ray discussion thread for their Imprint line in the Australia sub-forum). What I was probably thinking of was two or three separate, standalone threads for TV series which have had physical media DVD releases by Via Vision (The Bill, Halifax f.p., Murder Call and the original Ironside are the TV series I can think of).

I'd be interested to know how the transfer on Via Vision's DVD release of Quincy, M.E.'s eighth and final season compares to Shout! Factory's release, as I can remember there was an issue with Shout's transfer compared to the other seasons they released on DVD.

Thanks for the update. I might pick up the Audie Murphy, Man of the West: Collection III since I have the first 2 sets, which look to be OOP...

As each film gets upgraded to blu, I just swap out the dvd and put the blu in the case. I know that would drive a lot of people crazy but I love saving shelf space.

When checking Via Vision's website yesterday (apologies for being a day late in posting this), I saw that they've currently got a "Big Aussie TV sale" on, "50% off already discounted prices". The sale runs until two weeks today (Wednesday 5th July). It also states "limited stock available". Based on the two Via Vision website pages for this sale, there are twenty-three titles in the sale, some of them DVD boxsets packed as a bundle.

Thank you. The last list of new titles needed in my opinion to be split into two, due to the number of titles (over thirty). Thought best to do it that way as it would probably hurt peoples' eyes as much as it did mine after I finished the original version (one long list).

I haven't been interested in as many of the new television titles from Via Vision this year as I've been hoping for some other seventies and eighties US TV series on DVD and Blu-ray from Via Vision (towards the top of my want list are Sarge and Amy Prentiss).

They released The Bill and even though the declaration on the cover says "Whilst every care has been taken to produce the highest quality DVD release..." all they did was produce new artwork. Everything else; menu designs, presentation of episodes, printing of episode synopses is just Shock's work ported over.

So even though the show switched to 16:9 around Series 14, episodes aren't presented 16:9 till Series 19.
