Default Just got my 60 Gig Play Station 3 from Ebay

Don't ask how much i paid or bid for it. Ok long time lurker here, have a question about PS3 how do i install the lastest Firmware update? Can someone explain to me step by step how it's done. I want to get some games like Drakes Fortune and Assins Creed and some others. Also planning on buying alot of Blue ray movies. I need to get my PS 3 show on the road or in my living room. Please again can someone explain to me in detail how it's done. P.S. i have a Cable Modem through Comcast with a Ethernet cable or wire. Thanks any help would be really appreciated.

Two ways, external storage media (usb, sd etc) or via internet connection. Settings.. check for update... 1st one on the XMB after users i believe.

If using an external media file.. create a foler PS3 then a sub-folder UPDATE then place the firmware update there.

Latest firmware is 2.10

Playstions 3 update info

Then go buy a Sony 60A3000 SXRD for the total gaming experience.

Is there a easier way by just internet connection? Not familiar with some of the terminologies like XMB. Sorry what does that mean?

XMB is the menu system of the PSP and the PS3. The main categories like VIDEO, GAMES, MUSIC are horizontal their sub-options are vertical. To get to SYSTEM UPDATE, pick the category second from the the left, it should be the top-most sub-option.

wow... congratulations on managing to get the rarest PS3. The easiest way to update your PS3 is to connect to the internet using the ehternet port. The PS3 will auto-detect any new updates and prompts you step-by-step. The harder way is to download the update file and either save it on a USB thumb drive or burn it on a data disc.

here's the site:

Help this helps.

Just need to correct you there, the 20GB is the rarest of them all. (mainly because nobody would have bought them if the 60's weren't sold out)

Also with updates most of the latest games already come with the updates included.

I chose to buy the 20gb model over the 60gb model and I'm quite happy with my decision.

I didn't think wireless and memory card readers were worth $100. I wish the 20gb was still available because I'd like to buy another.

Um no.... it doesn't have extra USB ports. And the 40GB of space is a non issue since I used the extra $100 I saved and put a 160GB hard drive in it.

So wireless, memory card slots and 60GB hard drive or no wireless, no memory card slots and 160GB hard drive. I'll take the larger hard drive over the stuff I don't use.
