Do any of you put your steelbooks in clear plastic protectors ? Where do you buy your protectors?

Yep. Regardless of whether or not 4K ends up being the final physical media format (and I really think it will be), I've 100% decided that it will be the end of the line for me. And so I'm going all in on steelbooks or other limited edition and making it my definitive collection. So yeah, I'm spending a little extra on sleeves.
I've been getting them through retroprotection off of eBay. I last bought their bundle of 200 sleeves for roughly $130 (which should be enough for me for a good long while). They're good quality and that works out to about $0.65 per sleeve. Not terrible. |

Yes I do. I used to buy steel-shells, but they are sadly no more and cost a lot for overseas shipping. Got these from Amazon, and they are pretty good. I think it's worth $.75 a steelbook.

I try and put them in plastic containers now. It's just more visually appealing. A large part of my collection is in the plastic bags. I'm going to eventually have all plastic steelbook containers, but it will have to wait. Hope steelbook central is still in business in the near future.

I never did until I picked up steels that came with their own clear slipcover. I liked how they looked, so I have all mine in protectors now.
I use the EcoTek cases: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B092ZCYY6Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |

I put them on the shelf, but to get to them, one must cross the classic Get Smart vault, get past the auto guns from the Stallone Judge Dredd movie, face the bridge keeper from Monty Python and the Holy Grail (no easy "what's your favorite color?" questions!), and then the T-X to get to my movie room.
And heaven help you if you don't wipe your feet before entering, because Rosie the Robot does not take kindly to that, or forgetting to use coasters! |
