Default Lollipop Chainsaw (2023) Remake: Will it be a Switch Release?

https://www.eurogamer.net/heres-our-...remakes-juliet

I sure hope this will be released on the Nintendo Switch. It's been 11 years since the PS3 and Xbox 360 releases.

If this were a direct port of the original, Switch could definitely handle it. For a remake, I guess it depends on what tools/game engine they use and how well it can be optimized.

Looks like Dragami Games has a lot of experience with NS, so hopefully it happens.

I never got to play it when it originally released but have always wanted to give it a try. I might pick this version up.

The game was fun, definitely looking forward to the remake. Hopefully the remake manages to stay true to what was fun, but makes some refinements to the controls and camera which caused me some frustration back in the day.

If you scroll up to the Japanese tweet there is different art than the logo/icon international users get.

They haven't revealed what system(s) the remake will be on. Still think they should have made a sequel instead.

Announcement that this is now a remaster vs a remake.

Seems like a downgrade. It’s written as if the change was made due to fan feedback, more likely they got in over their heads and need to get this game on shelves quick.

Lmao. That's horrible haha. I did put in the time for the platinum back when it was still new. It was a pain and I doubt i feel like playing it again if it's just remastered.

Curious to see what this means. As it stands, my interest just dropped some more, especially since they already said they were gutting the licensed soundtrack. You'd think they could atleast get an arrangement to nickel n dime people for the original music with DLC.

I still kind of dread what music is used as a replacement. When Sega removed The Offspring from Crazy Taxi it just wasn’t the same energy.

Probably more of a straightforward port with better performance and resolution, rather than rebuilding it from scratch with new assets. I'm not surprised the music is getting cut, licensing has only gotten more expensive over the years and without WB funding the new release it was just not gonna happen.

Honestly, I'd much rather Grasshoper focus on getting some of their older work on newer platforms. I assume there's some sort of legal issue with Capcom holding up PS4/Xbox/Switch ports of Killer7 (because otherwise why wouldn't you put it out on those if you're doing a PC remaster?), but I'd love to see Flower, Sun and Rain or Moonlight Syndrome brought back.

The remake isn’t coming from Grasshopper Manufacture, so those other games really aren’t part of this conversation. I agree it would be great to see remakes/remasters of some Grasshopper Manufacture games like Killer 7 though.

Dragami Games is the successor to Kadokawa Games, publisher of Lollipop Chainsaw.

They did The 25th Ward: The Silver Case
I haven't still played it, maybe it didn't sell well enough.
I originally got the full on Collector's Edition, and later snatched up the smaller Limited Editions too for a very small price.

It seems the big one was called Limited Edition, and the smaller ones Deluxe Edition.

Deluxe Edition (art book is softcover):

Limited Edition (art book is hardcover):

Ok, this doesn’t sound like a remaster…

Hopefully “increase its appeal” doesn’t mean “censor for modern audiences.”

@yasudaD5 has been sharing updated images often, hopefully we get to see the game in action soon.

Quote:
Juliet has been retextured, but the model has not been changed. In the original version, I used a special process called "facial lighting" to make Juliet look beautiful. On the other hand, in RePOP, one of the important goals is to express Juliet's natural beauty by using current CG technology.

Dragami Games producer Yoshimi Yasuda (@yasudaD5) says the costume count was increased and all the originals are there aside from licensed ones (didn’t even know any were licensed).

I forgot to include in the trailer post above that the game releases digitally September 25th, 2024 for Switch/PS5/Xbox Series/Steam. No word on a physical copy yet. Physical release is coming in October for Switch/PS5/Xbox Series, $50 for disc or digital.

[Show spoiler]I wish we had a cross-post thing on this forum, probably don't need an extra thread in the Blue and Green pages.
