Default Batman Begins vs. The Matrix

I know they're probably going to release the Matrix as a trilogy but if it was just by itself which would you pick? Batman Begins or The Matrix. I'll even add the Batman Anthology which will have all the Batman movies and the Matrix trilogy.

Batman Begins.

I'd probably buy Batman as the anthology as well before the Matrix...however I HATE Batman and Robin...first two are great, third is pretty good.

Matrix, first one great, second ok, third sucked.

Batman Begins is just awesome

Batman Begins is my second favorite movie of all time behind Mulholland Dr and nano meters ahead of Casino Royale. Batman Begins is a definate buy for me, I would have it already if it was out but I am Blu only and have been since I got my PS3.

I would definitely buy Batman Begins and The Matrix. It's probably 50/50 on the Batman Anthology. I would only buy the Matrix trilogy if that was the only way to get The Matrix (I thought part 2 was horrible and part 3 was better but not something I want to own) and I would have to find it for a good price.

Batman Begins . . . not even a competition in my mind. But I'll be getting both. They can keep the Burton/Schumacher films.

Just Batman Begins (Thank you, Christopher Nolan) and The Matrix... just the first one... the rest of the trilogy was a real disappointment to me.

In my humble opinion, The Matrix is the best sci-fi movie I have seen. I think it is the perfect movie for Blu-Ray (great visuals and sound effects). The second Matrix movie is not as good as the original, but the freeway chase scene is spectacular. Not to mention the Twins (too bad they did not appear in the third movie).

As far as Batman goes, I liked Batman Begins very much, but the original Tim Burton directed Batman is the best of the series. Michael Keaton was very, very good as Batman and let's not forget about Jack as the Joker. "Wait till they get a load of me......" Jack pulled off that performance perfectly.

The original Matrix changed sci-fi/action movie making. Reloaded and Rovolutions, although not as good as the original, took CGI to another level. I cannot think of another set of films that would look or sound as good on blu-ray. As long as Warner handles the transfers well, like these films or not, they will all be must haves as reference material.

P.S. I love all three movies alot, so nananybooboo!lol

agree with you totally apart from when you say matrix is the best sci fi film ever as mines terminator 2 im not bothered about the 2nd and 3rd matrix i just like to look at the first on its own then its a masterpiece if you bring the other 2 in it stains it with something very smelly.Oh disagree again as i hated batman begins the only one id buy is the tim burton original im optimistic about the new one though with the joker coming back.

I'll buy the first Matrix, Batman/Batman Returns (Tim Burton), and Batman Begins.

Not a fan of the Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. I also was not a fan of Matrix Reloaded or Revolutions. The visuals were cool but the acting and story took a back seat where the first one had both up front.

I stopped watching during the 45-minute underground club scene montage in Part 2.. I literally stopped the disc and never watched another minute of The Matrix.

Same here with Matrix. I would however by the original Batman as a single.

As a fan of the Frank Miller-type Batman, the Burton films just don't do it for me. I've always thought Nicholson's Joker, while good, was overrated as well. I never got the sense from any of the first four Batman films that Batman is not the "mask" . . . Bruce Wayne is. What I loved about Begins is that he
has a hard time finding his role as Bruce Wayne since he is totally consumed by Batman. I love how he has to ask Alfred exactly what he's supposed to do to make sure the Bruce Wayne "costume" works.

I never got the feeling from Keaton's character that he really had that drive to be Batman. It seemed like it was more a job than an obsession. Plus the fact that they had him offing people left and right, which goes against one of the main principles of the character.

While the first Matrix is definitely the standout of the trilogy, I take guilty pleasure in watching the other two. If I can hear the machine in Revolutions speak to Neo in PCM or lossless, it'll be worth it. I love that part, I don't know why.

"SPEAK."

as for the matrix the first was great movie but for some reason i liked the second better. maybe bcuz of the actions scenes. the third was a let down as well.

I'm pickin' up what you're putting down. I watched the first Batman about 3 weeks ago to give it another chance, but I really had a hard time getting into it. Like you said though, when it first came out it was amazing, and I was a big fan for quite awhile. Batman Begins completely blew it out of the water, and from the little bit I've seen of Dark Knight that should be even better. Hopefully it'll turn out to be the "Aliens" of the comic book movies.
