Default PIONEER: Share Your Custom Display Settings

This thread is intended for members to share their custom picture settings for all PIONEER model TV's.

To help make life easier for others...please try to include (but not limited to):

TV Model Number?
Weather it's an ISF Calibrated setting or Disc calibrated setting?
What Input Connection this setting is used for? (ex. HDMI, Component, Composite etc)
What kind of room lighting you have? (dark, dim, bright etc)
Any key features that are turned on or that should be turned off?

Additional Info: *Calibrate Your HDTV*

*Please do not criticize settings being shared...it is a courtesy to those who cannot afford an ISF calibration or do not own a calibration dvd.

*Please also keep in mind that using someone else's settings may look good but it does not necessarily mean it will be ideal for your viewing pleasure and may require some tweaking.

*It is also NOT recommended for anyone to go into the Service Menu to make any adjustments.

Anyone with a Pioneer plasma should read this thread:

Various recommended settings from D-Nice on AVS

I used his recommendation for my 5010FD, and it is MAGNIFICENT. The flesh-tones are wonderful, and black levels are beautiful.

These are tuned for 1080p input, and so turn off the torch settings that seem to attract the flys, and turn of all the bells and whistles that are for lesser resolutions and sources.

It covers:

4280/5080
950/1150
5010FD/6010FD
110FD/150FD

I like D-Nice's 1150 day settings, but I feel like the reference settings are very dull and flat looking. Most of it has to do with day using User and reference using Pure. Does anyone actually use Pure mode?

I also used D-Nice's settings with some minor changes. I used to switch between user and pure mode depending on the source but now I watch everything in pure mode and I love it! I do plan to have it calibrated later this year, assuming I can find a good ISF tech.

Is it just me or did you notice Pure is significantly "duller" than User? I know Pure is more "accurate" but I like my color to have "pop" to it. I haven't had a chance to mess with all the settings yet, but what Film Mode (off, standard, smooth, adv) do you have yours on? Do I need one of these on to display a blu-ray @24fps?

Hey I just noticed your sig, you already got the Elite...nice!

Initially I also thought the user mode had more vibrant colors but eventually got used to the look of pure mode. D-Nice has changed the contrast level of his reference settings (at least for the 110FD/10FD) to 33 and that is exactly where I have mine. I believe he set it below 30 the last time I checked.

I use advanced (for 24fps) for BD and for other sources either off or smooth.
