Paramount will be releasing Hustle & Flow (2005) on 4K UHD as part of their Paramount Presents line on August 29th.

For the first time on 4K Ultra HD and remastered Blu-ray, HUSTLE & FLOW comes to Paramount Presents in this special limited edition release. Earning acclaim from critics and audiences alike—winning both the Audience Award at Sundance and the Oscar for Best Original Song—it’s an inspiring portrayal of redemption on life’s mean streets where “everybody’s gotta have a dream.” Written and directed by Craig Brewer (DOLEMITE IS MY NAME) and co-produced by John Singleton (BOYZ IN THE HOOD), the movie features a fantastic cast that includes Terrence Howard, Taraji Henson, Anthony Anderson, and Ludacris.

DJay (Terrence Howard) is a pimp living day to day on the tough streets of Memphis, Tennessee. Pushing 40, he's tired of the life he's living and dreams of something greater. When he meets up with an old friend who is now in the recording industry, he's inspired to turn his life around and uses his criminal life as an inspiration to create rap music. When he hears that a rap superstar is coming to town, Djay works a hustle to gain the rapper's attention and hopefully get signed by a label.

The most amazing thing is I like T. Howard's movie version more than the original. Don't think that has ever happened with an alternate version of a song.

More mind-blowing was hearing he doesn't even like rap and is a country fan, but he still killed it.

hope it carries over the Dolby Vision grading from iTunes.

I'm suprsised to see this on 4K, but I'm not complaining, I like Hustle & Flow! I don't think there is a chance of Paramount DNRing this because it's supposed to look grainy.

Subjective definitions of "classics" notwithstanding, all these can be considered classics of their respective genres. Roman Holiday above is the BD, since the 4K cover art isn't up in the DB yet, but that's coming August 15th.

Ah okay, thanks for clarifying, as I was confused by your post. The Virgin Suicides was a Paramount Classics release, which Criterion put out. Hustle & Flow is another. Kino are rumored to have The Gift. From the Paramount Vantage imprint, I expect we'll eventually see No Country for Old Men and There Will Be Blood.
