I love Gargoyles. It is a childhood favorite. One of the best things about Disney+ was being able to revisit it in its entirety.

I have one question for you:

"What could be strong enough to leave claw marks in solid stone?"

SmittysGelato, you said "was", does that mean it is no longer on Disney Plus?

It's still there as of six seconds ago. You'd better hurry up and watch it though, cause Disney might dump it on one of those FAST (Free Ad-supported Streaming) sites, as they have stated they intend to monetize their content and the TV show stuff that was already edited for commercials is a natural fit for doing that.

The "was" refers more to the fact that one of the first shows I watched on Disney+ was Gargoyles. I wasn't referring to its current availability.

I have most of the show on DVD(really needs a blu ray) and still enjoy the show. Though I am not a fan of the last season, though I am not the only one who had issues with that.

Surprised there hasn’t been a proper live action version yet.

The current Dynamite comics are basically the closest to a revival series as we're gonna get.

A Comic is better than it being a novel in my book. Like asajii ventress’s final story in Star Wars being a novel yay.

I own the canon cartoons, Season 1 and Season 2 vol. 1-2. I forget where I read it, but season 3 isn’t really considered canon. I don’t think I ever watched that on TV.

Those poor people who kept the Gathering of the Gargoyles going! Only to disband like a year or two before the long-awaited release of Season 2 Vol 2 on DMC (which is partly why I joined DMC). I think they tried to revive GoG after the DVD release, but it wasn’t like it was before.

I always found it funny that it has voice-acting links to ST:TNG.

One of the most overrated series ever, I think because this was the first Disney cartoon series many watched, which had on-going elements.
They were literally making up the story as they went along, instead of establishing the whole clan at the start, they end up having to use flash backs to alter the origin, every time a new character is added to the clan.
The main characters fail to really develop, especially the younger gargoyles, in the current time. Brooklyn only steps up to leadership when forced to, Lexington is obsessed with getting revenge on The Pack, and Broadway still struggles to tell the different between the real world & entertainment.
The story became a messy paradox when they reached Avalon, which made no sense at all. The second half of season 2 dragged the series out, by introducing Oberon's children, one per episode, in a very poor attempt at world building.

Gargoyles would be best described as a learning exercise for the creators, which failed in many ways.

^ Yeah, if you like Disney Afternoon and BTAS, you should enjoy it.

I don’t disagree with this (I actually remember thinking a lot of this when watching through the DVDs) other than I’d argue that the TNG connections have a lot to do with it being as overrated as it is. The Gathering is such a Trekkie thing.

It’s a fun show with good animation/voice acting and ambition that doesn’t always pan out.

I rank it behind the original 6 Disney Afternoon shows (Gummi Bears - Goof Troop) but it was the last good one, IMHO. I have no memory of the other DA shows.

Personally, I don't need everything to be planned out in advance for it to be entertaining.

There are plenty of fun shows that are not planned in advance at least as far as a continuing story arc/line.

Just wait till you get a load of Demona. You will be hooked and will never be able to go back to a life before Gargoyles.
