Default Is this a good reciever for 4K?

Hey,

When/if I upgrade to 4K do I have to get a new reciever like this one:

https://www.richersounds.com/yamaha-rxv6a-black.html - is this a good system? Not sure if I could use my existing speakers though?

My current setup is serving me well but it's quite old, and I doubt it has 4K passthrough or things like that

Not sure what you're using now but if you're happy with your present speakers you should be fine using them. I'd also consider Denon receivers.

I have the Yamaha TSR 700, which is the Costco version of the RX-V6A and have had really good results, albeit a bumpy road at first were they had a defective HDMI board. This not affected Yamaha, but Denon (and I believe Onkyo) as well. They replaced the bad boards through a repair program where they replaced the boards with a turnaround of 5 days (Denon offered a stand alone box to bybass it) and all is good now. I personally have had good luck with Yamaha receivers over the years. My last one was going 20 years strong, but I ended donating it to a friend.
