Warner Bros Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023) [No 3D Blu-ray] [Digital only - AVP]

RealD are advertising Aquaman 2 with the hopefully definitive hashtag 'in realD 3D' on their facebook page. Fingers crossed this won't end up being another cancelled 3D conversion, but the fact they are posting it only a few months out gives me hope it's more finalised.

IIRC, user BLMN here shared that WB had shared with cinema owners that they planned to release The Flash and Aquaman 2 theatrically in 3D earlier this year. The Flash was obviously cancelled, but I also don't remember RealD promoting it ever, so fingers crossed for this one!

Unfortunately, even if it does get a 3D cinema release, looking at Meg 2 it seems like WB are done with 3D bluray, so the cinema might be the only place to see this.

That this will likely not get a 3D Blu-Ray release is just awful

Perhaps a similar box office performance to the original might work in our favor.

Very seriously doubt it will be released on blu ray. One can hope i guess but it's starting to be very doubtful we will ever get another DC movie in 3D. Very sad situation.

I don't see anything about Aquaman 2: The Lost Kingdom being in 3D on the Real America site, if this is not being offered here in the states in 3D this doesn't matter to me especially since either way we won't be getting this movie on Blu-Ray 3D due to the David Zaslav the greedy cheapskate in charge of Warner Bros and DC now. But if this is gonna be 3D it tell me with the massive failures of Shazam 2, The Flash & Blue Beetle are starting to worry those at Warner, and with how well The Meg 2 did in theaters cause of 3D I think this tells them there are many who want movies like this in the 3D format and not just IMAX.

I found a 3D trailer side/side on Youtube for Aquaman 2, but I'm almost certain it's an autoconversion by the user who posted it unfortunately. I couldn't tell for sure as I didn't have any access to side by side 3D option and had to shrink the video so I could blend the two images into one with my eyes.

But I'll be surprised if this is indeed 3D in theaters in the US. It begs for a strong 3D conversion. I'll rewatch the first film.

If this wasn't bumped into 2024, that's great news.

Glad to hear this wasn't edited to **** which was my main fear. I might have to go to the theater for this one, Aquaman was incredible in 3D.

Wasn’t it? Reports are that there have been lots of reshoots and re-editing going on because test screenings have been disastrous, with people even walking out on them. Yikes.

I was referring to all the rumors that AH was heavily edited out or even completely removed but the director said that didn't happen and she's in the movie as much as is appropriate for the movie (or something like that). The movie may suck anyway I guess who knows, haha.

RealD just posted another poster/promo on their socials. I’m leaning towards this one actually happening!

I think I'm going to see this in theater as the first one looked awesome in 3D and the chances that this will never see the light of day in 3D is pretty high, as usual.

To bad we will likely never get the chance to see it in 3D ever again because of the Warner

It begs the question of the motive behind trying to stifle and hide 3D versions of any movie. What's the point? The 3D hardware is still out there alive and kicking in homes across the globe.

Not buying no 4k stuff.

I will buy 4K stuff, but not if it was 3D in cinemas, so I won't buy Meg 2 and I won't buy this.

WB did me a favour with Meg 2. I would have bought it in 3D on principle, but the movie was absolute drivel.

This one is going to sting a lot more when it gets dumped out flat.

I suppose a small modicum of copium is maybe Warner Archives makes an exception for a superhero movie of this calibre, but my heart says no.

The Real D website updates the next 3D releases, and confirmed the 3D release.

From the looks of it, SDFX will be responsible* for the 3D conversion, and that could actually be true. Trolls 3 will be released in some countries in October and The Marvels should be in the final stretch of production. They take a while to update the website, so confirmation comes between the end of October or November.

*I think it will be a collaboration with DNEG.

It looks like they're REALLY done with the 3D conversion, which seems strange. But this film had been ready for some time because it was supposed to be released earlier.
