Default The Terminator 4K

I thought when that new audio mix showed on Prime there must be a remaster

https://www.buyoyo.com/buyoyo/eng/Pr...63309&prtype=0

Note also they have American Graffiti listed too.

I would have expected a 2024 release date, making it 40 year celebration.

It's a foreign release, so they sometimes get a bit ahead of other markets, when distribution is different. At that date, it is essentially a 2024 release. However, it's not unusual in the American market to have a release appear suddenly out of nowhere, with only a few months to go before it lands, so maybe we'll get an announcement soon.

I was wondering if what I saw in theaters last month was a new 4k remaster. It definitely looked different from the bluray and the sound was revamped a bit.

Very. They were months ahead on Fright Night.

Ah nice. Yeah I have looked at the audio on the prime stream and it is not anything like the old releases. It is clean and utterly noiseless at the low end, unlike the prior mixes which were a low end noisy mess.

Just on buyoyo, their site is so old, but I have purchased from them for the last 27 years. They were the first hint of Fright Night, Deep Impact, Shawshank, for starters. So at this stage, I'd be more surprised if Terminator didn't happen.

Yeah, Buyoyo's site is stuck in the 90s but they're legit. They also pick up some local stuff that nobody else sells.

Now that so many Cameron's other movies are on their way I'm ready to believe. My favorite of his.

Mine too terminator 2 is overrated too me, the original was much more gritty in nature that’s why I prefer it over 2.

I saw the movie in 1986 when my dad recorded it for me.
I was 9-10 at the time and that endoskeleton corridor chase is still playing a factor in my dreams once a year or so and it's still tense.

It's such an excellent movie

I find the use of "overrated" as it relates to film is silly.

They are two different films. In tone and such. I think they serve two different kind of moods.

Folks who think that T2 is not a Classic, Iconic, ground-breaking awesome action sci-fi film because they like the first one better -- are smoking something and it's not the good stuff.

Disparaging T2 to boost Terminator is just sad. They are separate, both are classics and both brilliant. Quit trying to advance the notion that one is "better".

For me T2 is not a classic. It's very very good, but it's not a classic. I have no problem saying it's a 9/10 film, but whereas the first film sits comfortably alongside the likes of Alien, Blade Runner, 2001 etc, T2 IMO does not.

That being said, it's a hell of a lot closer than T3, and the rest though....

I am aware that (at least back in the day, I have the feeling T1 catches up in recent years) that T2 is cosnidered one of the sequels better than the original and that it is considered a classic.

Doesn't change the fact that I never really liked it.
Love the first film for the gritty 80s slasher vibes and never was a fan of the 90s PC blockbuster actioner.
