Default Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Specials

I noticed that the 60th anniversary specials just got released in the UK. Does anyone know if they're going to get a physical release in North America?

It will probably be some time because of Disney+ being the broadcast partner. Obviously BBC Video retain all rights and will release them, but there is probably a mandated gap of a few months before they can be made available in other mediums. Same as like, why The Crown doesn’t come out two weeks after the Netflix release.

Not likely anytime soon. The UK discs are locked to Region B, which probably indicates that there's some kind of deal to keep them Disney+ exclusives, at least for awhile.

Hopefully this comes out in the US sometime early next year. I fell off Doctor Who after Matt Smith took over but returned for the 50th when Tennant came back. Would like to see see these new specials since he's in them too.

I guess this means they gave Disney a one year exclusive window before a physical release can be done in the US, so I will look forward to purchasing Season 14 in May or June 2025
(And no, I will not call it “Season 1”, stupid marketing term!)
