Blu-ray and PS3 are off to one great year!

I feel like a can let out a big sigh of relief as my 2 favorite things blu-ray and PS3 are doing awesome. For blu-ray first Warner Bros. then Netflix and Best Buy, and now Wal-Mart all go blu-ray exclusive. Wow this is one awesome start of a year.


This is so awesome to see how well blu-ray and PS3 are doing lately. If you google the news for blu-ray as far as the media is concerned HD-DVD is dead and blu-ray is the clear winner. With the PS3 passing the Xbox 360 sales for January and only a few thousand behind the Nintendo Wii we are off to a great year!

Add a future price cut and several blockbuster titles coming this year and you just cant help getting giddy.

I agree! Sony knew it was a gamble, but if blu-ray took off thanks to the PS3 they would become the Next DVD.

It's kinda funny in a way, cause outside of this forum, there's ALOT of people who hate PS3 and Blu-ray. Why? They never have a proper answer for their hate.

It's the general hate of Sony which is weird, the PS2 was widely liked so I don't know where this hate is coming from. Sure their products are usually over priced but that doesn't mean you have to buy it. I guess it might be Sony's arrogance to force people to use their stuff, Mem Sticks, UMD, mini disc....

I think 90% of the hate is from misplaced console gamers who backed other systems in the past and were bitter of their choice not coming in first in past generations. They were always there, just outnumbered and growing bitter. I think most secretly envy PS3 but don't want to actually spend money on it so it became cool to hate it last year.

Now they are just loud. The anti-Sony crowd is actually shrinking if you follow more respected sites.

It was primarily due to the Microsoft/HD-DVD PG non-rational propaganda campaign.

these are mostly microsoft, and nintendo fanboys. They been raving how 360 and wii is better, but then the numbers come out, and as the future is starting to show, things are changing, basically, peoples problems are, they CAN'T admit they were wrong. I told around 8 guys not to start a hd-dvd collection months ago, it will not beat blu-ray, I would laugh everytime they kept buying movies, its back by microsoft, its backed by microsoft, it can't lose they would say. Not one of the 8 came to me and said I should have listened to you, or you were right, they keep saying the same crap, hd-dvd is better and should have won, people just don't know what their doing, so some still can't admit it, hope you enjoy selling those hd-dvd players and movies, cause you ain't getting the money back you put into them

I am Playstation fanboy through and through, never owned any other system since Sega Genesis. But I didn't let that blind me, I looked at the format war from the start and said to myself the BDA has more companies backing it both studios and CE and the PS3 will have a blu ray player included. To me it was a no brainer which would win, but almost everyone I knew said there was no way they would buy a PS3 and that blu ray would fail because of its price. Now that I am and many others here were right and the PS3 is selling better than ever, everyone else in the gaming community is eating crow.
