United Kingdom Wham! - Fantastic & Make It Big deluxe editions issued on SDE-exclusive BD-A (Atmos)

Deluxe editions of Wham!’s two studio albums – 1983’s Fantastic and 1984’s Make It Big – will be issued for the very first time via two SDE-exclusive blu-ray audio releases which feature 96/24 hi-res stereo mixes of the original recordings and Dolby Atmos spatial audio, along with a generous selection of bonus tracks in both Atmos and stereo.

These releases are region-free. 14-day pre-order window ends February 22!

Well that was a quick $100 spent (ordered the bundle with both Wham discs & Paul Young's "No Parlez").

Awesome. I'm all in. I just hope they move away from the animated background graphics like they did for Soft Cell. It was just the same 7 or so images panning and fading over and over again. Very distracting.

I hear ya. I just prefer to see the album art and track list. Like what Rhino does with their Quadio discs. Or like back in the day with DVD-Audio.

Just because we CAN have animated menus doesn't mean we NEED animated menus.

Pre-ordered the Wham! bundle.

I already pre-ordered Paul Young's 'No Parlez' back in December.

Looking forward to receiving all three in March!

I wish I enjoyed Fantastic, saving CDN$7 by ordering both would be great but I don't even know I'd listen to it once. Wish we'd see more overlapping windows for exclusives, I understand this one happening because it's the same artist but the transatlantic shipping costs sure add up.

Definitely yes on Make It Big, the Atmos mix is great and I'm thrilled to be able to upgrade it to lossless Atmos.

I feel the same exact way. I would probably listen to Fantastic once. I'm much more likely to grab my dvd copy of George Michael Videos than Fantastic (sorry). Make it Big on the other hand, lots of replay value there. I'm still going back and forth on it, but I'll probably just do Make It Big on BR audio.

Wow, never thought these would be given the blu-ray treatment. Thanks for the heads up. Ordered.

So, just a reminder that this preorder is only open for about another day before they will close it. I unfortunately have not ordered because when I got to the checkout page, the shipping had went up from $7 or $8 to $11. At $42 us dollars, that's super hard to stomach for one blu-ray (and yes I won't pay this for 4k treatment either, I max out around $35 to be frankly honest unless it's some kind of Kickstarter). I do enjoy Wham/George Michael quite a bit, but I dunno...

EDIT: Apparently, I did pay the same amount for two Blu-Ray audios for Tears for Fears. I guess I rationalized it easier or something, who knows.

Just order it, once they're gone, they're gone.

I skimmed through both of these online yesterday, not for me.

Time to finally sit and listen to my previous purchases (from last year), see what I got myself into.

I know, I know...I think what might have transpired was that when I ordered 2 other releases, they kept it in GBP. Luckily my card has no fee, so I don't get charged extra for the exchange rate. Here, they are converting it to USD and I looked at the recent exchange rate and stand to lose almost $3 due to them converting it for me. Really sucks that you can't change it.

George Michael's later stuff was more in line with soul music. I like that better than the earlier Wham pop stuff. But I ordered it anyway.

I was just about to pull the trigger on this title and one other but then I saw their shipping has gone way up—$28 CAD shipping for two titles! So a total of $110 CAD for two!

Yeah, I think I’m done with SDE. Unless there’s an absolute must-have title, I just can’t afford these guys anymore.

That's ridiculous, they used to have scaled shipping when ordering multiple items - I would contact them about that, perhaps the site's coding is messed up and no-one has pointed it out to them yet.

EDIT - they must have fixed it because when I go to order the Wham! bundle I get CDN$20 shipping. Four single Blu-ray titles and it only goes up to CDN$25 shipping.

I added Make It Big and the Soft Cell BD, and shipping was $28!
But then I substituted the Air BD for Soft Cell and it went down to $20. I’m so confused.
At any rate, I’m no longer ordering titles from them unless it’s already one I really like. No more blind buying from them anymore—it’s just too expensive.
