Default 4k blu rays selling out?

With Oppenheimer 4k selling out, and now the three James Cameron releases selling out, do you think companies will take notice and invest more in 4k Blu-ray?
Seems like it’s starting to become a challenge to find some popular 4k blu rays close to release day.

I haven't see any reason that they would produce more UHDs.

Maybe that they’re selling out?

UHDs are not pressed in any great numbers for North America because the replication capacity just isn't there. So it doesn't matter how big or how popular something is, the studios don't produce a lot of them and haven't done for some time. So when they need more than three copies at once they get caught short, I'm exaggerating but you get the idea.

And we know the one Mexican plant has excellent QC, too.

Think about what you're talking about...Oppenheimer and the Cameron films. Two of the Cameron films weren't even (officially) released on Blu, let alone 4K. What you're seeing is an anomaly.

Cameron films are one thing, but Oppenheimer is currently $19.99 on Amazon with a delivery date of tomorrow (for those with Prime). So...not really selling out. It was at first, but the supply seems to be plenty now.

No, these are mega-titles and big-time outliers when it comes to physical media these days.

It is not indicative of a larger trend in the least.

They'll simply do further pressings of these specific titles to meet the higher-than-usual demand. If anything, expect major studios to invest less in UHD as the years drag on...

No, the market has only shrunk with the years, it hasn't expanded, so it doesn't make sense to invest in it.

I think it's indicative of the studios trying to not have excess, unsold stock.
