Default Buckeye Amplifiers… best value in Class D

I purchased amplifiers from Buckeye Amplifier. It’s a one man show run by a guy named Dylan. He offers class D amplifiers with modules from Hypex and Purifi in different configurations going from mono blocks all the way up to 8 channels.

The Hypex modules come in stereo pairs with the NC252 and the higher power variant NC502. He will also offer the newer NCx variant when it’s available in quantity.

The Purifi Eigentacht module is a single channel but it available in one to three channel configurations. He’s unable to fit more than 3 in a chassis due to space and the current off-the-shelf power supply.

He also offers the higher-end Purifi module for difficult loads (speakers whose impedance drops below 2-ohm).

Customization options are also available like rack mount chassis and color options and some op-amp choices on some.

Running a 3-channel Purifi (LCR) a Hypex 8-channel NC252 (4-floor surrounds and 4-ceiling). Best of all these ampliers are well below the boutique prices of the home theater and audiophile amplifier companies. Got mine with rack mount configuration for just $3.3k. Another great thing about these in addition to be extremely efficient compared to Class AB is they are fairly lightweight. An 11-ch Class AB amp with the same performance would easily weigh over 80lbs. My two amp combined can’t be over 20lbs.

So if you’re in the market for amplifiers maybe take a look at Buckeye. I personally think they are currently the best value in audio.

Would love to know how you are enjoying your Buckeye Amps after a year. I'm looking at the NC252 6-channel for my system. It is enough for what I have and in my price range. Anything and everything you can share would be appreciated!
