Quite the obscurity, which is encouraging as I hope it means other GH forgotten titles like THE BLADE SPARES NONE, THE COMET STRIKES and TIGER OF NORTHLAND are on the way too!
This summer is quite the bonzana for Shin Il-ryong fans with this, Severin's THE DRAGON LIVES AGAIN and 88's TO KILL WITH INTRIGUE coming out! |

Got my copy lightning early today from Cinema Classics, check them out if you live in The US since they get pre-orders early, ship them out once received (not sure if other select retailers do this) and they have a nice deal of Buy 6, 7th free.
I'm gonna watch both cuts tonight, been hyped for this and many of Eureka's Releases this year, same with Arrow, Vinegar Syndrome, 88 Films, Severin, and Shout/Scream Factory; such a great time to be an Asian Action Cinema Fan ![]() https://cinemaclassics.com/product/double-crossers/ |

I've been wanting The Blade Spares None for awhile now (gotta love when Nora Miao breaks away from "The Bruce Lee Girl" image she's often been associated with), would love to see 88 Films do a Deluxe Edition for that Region A and B (even though I have a Region Free Blu-Ray Player; bought this month, I just know not everyone has one) |

Mine shipped last week, so hopefully will have this in a few days. Never heard of this one until this release, so looking forward to a nice surprise. Plus it has Sammo Hung, which is usually a good thing.

It's a fun movie, but Sammo Hung is only in like one or two scenes, if I recall correctly. If I'm wrong, they were very minor scenes since he's your typical henchmen villain. He has a fight scene, but it's so short and he's easily cast aside. If you're a fan of Michael Wai Man Chan like I am, then he plays his typical second hand to the main villain role and does it well. Plus, he's always cool. I highly recommend for something different in his roles, Chinese Hercules. He plays a good hero in that movie where he accidentally kills his girlfriend's brother who was bullying him. He runs away to not get arrested, but vows to never use his fists again. Of course other baddies on an island ruin everything and he winds up using his fists again after his girlfriend convinces him. Typical of these films but if you're like me and you truly love these films, no matter HOW cliche they are because they repeat the same plots, it's always fun & I personally love putting myself into the character so I can relate to how they feel and their actions. It obviously features my homie Bolo Yeung who shines so much in the movie with incredible athletic fight scenes (never was sure why people just viewed him as "just a bodybuilder" he was so much more than that), but the main villain plays in other wuxia and martial arts/kung-fu films from that era. I can never find his name but he fights alongside Bolo Yeung. He's fantastic as well and a fan of his movies, just wish I could figure out his name, lol. I highly recommend Chinese Hercules though. |

Oh no, it was this guy that was the main villain alongside Bolo Yeung in Chinese Hercules, seen him in a few other films as well, but he played minor villain roles. It's a shame because he has such main villain vibes. https://hkmdb.com/db/people/view.mht...isplay_set=eng |

It's an odd duck this one - very much a melting pot of locations and actors, but not much identity to it. Definetly a sign of when Golden Harvest didn't really know what to do with their martial arts movies before the comedy gold-mine came along. It feels like a movie made to get tax-breaks in half a dozen different countries.
Interesting that HK cinema latched onto Shin Il-Ryong for a brief period - besides this, he played villians in TO KILL WITH INTRIUGE and THE DRAGON LIVES AGAIN around the same time, then disapeared. |

Just finished watching this and really enjoyed it. I've never considered ever going to Bali, but that might be a vacation spot to hit in the future!
This movie is VERY 70's and I love it for it. Everyone wearing bell bottoms, funky score, things that don't always make sense, and lots of Kung Fu. The main differentiation compared to films of the era is the location. It feels like everyone wanted to go on vacation, but make a film at the same time. Sammo Hung has a nice cameo towards the end and Michael Wai-Man Chan steals the show as the main enforcer. The guy has a presence and always sells the villain roles really well. No special features outside of the commentaries, but the PQ looked great. We live in a pretty surreal time where so many obscure films are getting the royal treatment, but I'm all for it. A solid release from Eureka. |
