I have the Cohen blu of this, PQ is pretty poor and no better than the old DVD. I hope this is an improvement but I’m not holding my breath despite claims of stunning HD.

The Hive link works, but the HMV one does not with a message on the HMV page - Page not found Unfortunately the page you were looking for could not be found.

Thanks for the reminder about Jigsaw. I will be ordering this.

Wonder if there's any hope for 2 other early 1960's crime cheapies, that punch above their weight i.e Strongroom and The Man in the Back Seat. Both directed by Vernon Sewell and starring Derren Nesbitt.

Sign me up.

Derren Nesbitt was really good in The Informers (1963). I'd love to see that one released on Blu-ray too.

Likely barebones based on the other Screenbound/Cohen titles.

Nigel Patrick from that film is also wonderful in Sapphire. The best we have of that at the moment is a watchable DVD from Strawberry Media. Maybe one day..

I’d love to get this one on UHD. Held off on the Cohen BD. Is there a 4K scan?

I don’t think so. I took a punt on the Cohen and was underwhelmed to say the least. I’m expecting this Screenbound to look the same.

The music on that trailer is hilarious. Almost like they got the film mixed up with the other Jigsaw.

Hard to tell from that if PQ is any better than the Cohen. Dynamic range might be a bit better. Fingers crossed.

Release day today. Just looking at the trailer it’s the exact same one for the Screenbound as it is for the Cohen, just with their respective names at the beginning. I think they will be the same transfer unfortunately.

That's a pity.

I put in a pre-order regardless as I don't already own the Cohen. Arriving tomorrow.

Interested to hear what you think about the PQ. As I mentioned the cohen isn’t great. Do you have the old DVD?

Unfortunately not. I have nothing at all to compare it with.

As expected, the picture quality isn't very good. A couple of notches below, say, a typical Vintage Classics release. I watched The Silent Enemy last night and it's night and day really.

The film itself is great, of course. Engrossing throughout.

Thanks, a shame but not unexpected. Hardly stunning HD. I can’t see this being any better in the future, but at least we have it unlike many great films that are stuck on DVD or not even that.
