Best movie of the year thus far. Thought it might get an official criterion release but I’ll still buy a Janus contemporary day one.

I wrote the same comment on the news item, but I'll mention it here as well:
Apparently the end credits, as well as an extra scene, are not part of the movie itself, the movie shows a QR code and you have to follow the QR code for a download. I hope they skipped that nonsense and will just put it on the Blu-ray. Would welcome any news about this. This will be my first Janus purchase as well. |

It's in keeping with the themes of the film IMO. I'd be surprised if the home video release was any different.

Right, but they could at least include the content as a bonus feature, so that after watching the film, you can watch it on the disc. Then it's preserved on the disc, because like all movie websites, it may not be anytime soon, but that download is eventually going to go away. I'm not sure what the quality of the download is, but then you'd have Blu-ray quality as well, of course.

This film looks really cool. It says it's in French language, but on the trailer I watched, they speak English.
Is it mostly in french? |

It cuts between three different time periods (which represent three different incarnations of the main characters) and in one of the three lifetimes they live in Los Angeles and speak English. In the other two they mostly speak French, though some English dialogue is used in the early 1900s part.
