Definitely looking at grabbing this one since it was a staple in the household during my high school years when it came out. The many times I’d sit and watch the Riddick movies with the folks.

Hopefully a 4K UHD of Riddick 2013 is in the pipeline to complete the trilogy, but yeah...figured we were gonna get a 4K UHD of Chronicles of Riddick somewhere down the line after Pitch Black got a 4K.

It did not. If I recall correctly, they had to cancel the slip at the last minute due to a printing error or something.

No, there was some balls-up if I recall and they dropped it at the last minute. Artwork error, maybe? Caused quite the kerfuffle at the time.

The 1080p release did come with a nice velvety slip though.

Pretty sure they existed. Think messed up Cathy's Curse slip where instead of including it all messed up, they trashed it. The BD release still had one.


I bought the BD and made a combo pack using the BD's slip.

If I recall correctly Pitch Black BD & 4K both were delayed from their initial announced date due to a printing error with the 4K slip, just for the attempt to fix that to still sadly have a problem, which resulted in it just being canceled for the 4K rather than another delay. Would definitely be nice even if it’s an Arrow exclusive to see an option to get one eventually. Maybe when they do Riddick in a year or 2, an Arrow store exclusive could include that movie with just a slip for Pitch Black.

someone on X commented on James Flowers tweet about how great it was to work on Chronicles asking if the 3rd Riddick was coming to UHD. JF's response was that someone else has "bagged" the rights to that UHD, not Arrow. Bummer of course for Arrow, but nice to know Riddick will be complete on UHD in the near future.....
