Hope this plays near me. I'll check it out if so. I've only seen 2 of the Paramount 8 on the big screen. Flashback Cinema had a showing of the original last year, and I saw Jason Takes Manhattan during its theatrical run when I was 8 years old.

Must see for me. I’ve only seen the original and remake in theaters. And FvJ. Would love to see Jason Lives get the theatrical re release as it’s my favorite in the franchise.

Jason Takes Vancouver would be cool too as besides the time square bits, the whole thing filmed in my hometown.

Side note but if I could go back in time and change one movie it might be Jason Takes Manhattan. Jason running around dirty, scuzzy, neon drenched New York
(The ACTUAL New York) in the 80s would have been the greatest thing ever. Oh and for good measure I would have hired Abel Ferrara to direct.

^Takes Manhattan is definitely a missed opportunity, and it's sad when you learn that the director was originally given 4 days to shoot there and had some cool ideas he wanted to film...including one scene on the Brooklyn bridge.

They sliced the budget though and he only wound up with 1, hence the few scattered moments we do get.

My biggest problem with that movie though is the dumbass teleporting.

It does not return to any theaters near me. So I guess, I’m spinning the Blu-ray next month.

Nothing listed in the whole state (TN). Closest screening is in Missouri. Blu-ray marathon at my house Friday.

I'm not holding my breath that the local cinema will do a screening of The Final Chapter (unsure yet whether they will show the original Elm Street for it's 40th anniversary).

The original aside (have seen that three or four times at the cinema (one-off screenings), have seen Jason X, Freddy vs. Jason and the late-noughties film at the cinema.

I would find it difficult to pick a favourite film/some favourite films in the Friday the 13th film series, as I very much like any of the first seven (after that though, they're a bit hit and miss for me). The Final Chapter has one of my favourite bumping-off scenes
[Show spoiler](where Jason is outside a window, pulling one of the female characters out of the window (during a rainstorm?).

Yeah, I’m the same. They all have some merit, and I love the Zombie Jason look.
I can happily watch the whole boxset over a week or so. I thought the remake was pants though.

I can't remember which point they stopped releasing F13th sequels theatrically in the UK.

Halloween 4 and 5 went straight to video here. But that was a few years later. It's possible The Final Chapter got a release here at the time.

I'm sure this will get a re-release in the UK, and I'm sure it'll be about 2 weeks AFTER Friday the 13th

Calling it the final chapter in 1984 seems a little premature

Nah, it isn't like they made any other sequels afterwards.

They didn't know how much toothpaste they could squeeze out of the tube, or how much of it moviegoers would continue to lap up.

Glad it’s coming to theaters but I’ll just watch it at home.

I guess we'll have to settle for dancing like this to "Back in Black." I would love to see an AC/DC concert where everybody does the Crispin Dance when the song gets played.
