Default 3-D Film Archive 10th Anniversary!

October 14, 2014, DRAGONFLY SQUADRON was the inaugural 3-D Blu-ray release from 3-D Film Archive.

In the decade that followed, we produced one critically acclaimed restoration after another. With a variety of distribution partners including Kino Lorber, Flicker Alley, ClassicFlix, and BayView Entertainment, the 3-D Film Archive brought fans major releases including 3-D RARITIES, GOG, THE MAZE, ROBOT MONSTER, THE ABBOTT AND COSTELLO SHOW, JACK AND THE BEANSTALK, FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN, DYNASTY, BWANA DEVIL and IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE.

In the next twelve months, look for the following six 3DFA restorations on Blu-ray:

From BayView Entertainment:

1. Arch Oboler's DOMO ARIGATO.
2. DRAGONFLY SQUADRON, a new restoration with exciting bonus features including a previously lost and historically significant Golden Age 3-D short!

From Kino Lorber Studio Classics:

3. THE GLASS WEB
4. MONEY FROM HOME
5. FRANKENSTEIN'S BLOODY TERROR
6. Arch Oboler's THE BUBBLE, restored 1966 theatrical version.

Pre-orders for THE BUBBLE are now available on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...-d-restoration

The very unique and highly specialized expertise of the 3-D Film Archive has cornered the market on vintage stereoscopic film restoration, single-handedly doing more for vintage 3-D preservation than any other organization or archive worldwide.

Thank you VERY much for your interest and ongoing support of our work. The best is yet to come!

Bob Furmanek, Jack Theakston, Greg Kintz

12,3 and 5 for me, possibly 6 depending on length of the 3D test footage bonus feature.

I'm in for 1, 5 and 6. I should sell my Bubble now as it will probably pay for all these in the future

I’m hoping the 3D test footage is of a decent length, that may sway it for me. I’m not huge on double dipping to be honest.

Congratulations! I've been purchasing your releases since day one. I've enjoyed them all, and some of these titles have been a revelation.

I'm endlessly grateful to have the privilege to be able to see for myself what it was all about, rather than having to take the word of some of the various critics that have dismissed these over the years. Without your work, we'd all have a far more limited frame of reference for vintage 3-D. With these incredible 70 year old films, seeing is believing.

Hey Bob, I read the posts here daily but rarely post anything myself. I just wanted to thank you for all your work. When I managed to get a 3D projector three years ago, I discovered your posts and all your work through this forum. I've since tracked down every 3D disc you've had a hand in, as well as every 3D disc available from the 50s through the early 80s.

I also got to enjoy no less than nine 3D showings at Film Forum last year as part of the Deeper Look series you curated. Hondo!

Thanks for giving me a really fun hobby that I never expected to enjoy so much, especially in my own living room.

I'll be picking up every single one of your upcoming releases. Congrats on 10 years.

My heartiest congratulations on your ten year anniversary! What an incomparable body of work you’ve bestowed upon us, with much more to come, an embarrassment of riches, as they say. Thank you all from the bottom of my film nerd heart for everything you’ve done for the cause, and are continuing to do. And, needless to say, I’m in for all your releases, every last one.

Oh, and thanks also for the sneak peek of some upcoming cover art in your anniversary graphic… <3

The Archive's work has been nothing less than fantastic. Congratulations on the decade and may the preservation work continue.

Happy 10th Anniversary Bob (and team). Thank you for all you have achieved over the past decade and for keeping the 3-D releases flowing. I am so grateful for being able to view these gems in my modest home cinema, and in a better state than when they were first presented! Here's to the next 10 years! Congratulations!

It’s been a fantastic decade, I was ready to call it a day, frustrated at region locked titles, then I remembered how much I enjoyed these vintage titles after a brief break and I just couldn’t leave them.
What with COVID, and having a rubbish couple of years family wise (health issues) I feared what the heck, life is too short to deprive oneself of pleasures for the sake of a couple of hundred pound.

One region free player later, and having recently witnessed The Maze in all its glory, I’m in for the next decade.

Edit: I also feel a little silly for being stubborn and resisting all the advice to get a region free player from many members for several years, especially when it has opened up a new slate of 3D features for next year.

The Maze in 3-D is just totally kick-ass, and the restoration is flawless!

Working with 4K scans off the original 35mm camera negatives, we’re VERY proud of that one!

I would say it’s in my top three, with House Of Wax and Inferno.
