It only took till Jan. 2025 for Criterion to put out a 4K release I deem worthy.

Mizoguchi in 2030?

I wonder if BFI will be doing a release of these like with Seven Samurai?

I wonder if the BFI will do this but with an HDR pass, like they did with Seven Samurai.

I'm probably going to wait for the inevitable Kurosawa UHD box set.

I doubt that’s happening now. In the past, Criterion has released a blu-ray box set and then done individual 4K releases. This time, we’re getting the individual 4K releases first, so no real reason to do a box set.

This will only be $5 more than their Blu-ray set during sales, which is really great.

Who brought up Seven Samurai I said it'll cost $5 more than the BD set during sales (B&N 50% off or Criterion Flash sales)

Blu-ray MSRP: $70
4K MSRP: $80

Blu-ray 50% off: $35
4K 50% off: $40

$40-$35 = $5 difference

For certain getting this unless BFI does it too. Then I might go for that instead but wonderful news regardless. Kurosawa finally starting to catch up on UHD.
