Indeed, this is what I’ve been waiting for. If done right, while staying somewhat within reality of that time period, this could be a great gem of a movie.

Eggers didn't say which ones but there's at least a 50% chance it could have included The Knight.... he could look great in a medieval movie

Eggers and Dafoe are a perfect match. I’d love to see them work together as long as both are healthy and willing.

Knights, in full gear and mask, are really cool warriors in terms of design, though I can't imagine moving around in all that heavy metal was easy to do and not cumbersome/awkward in a battle. Nevermind trying to see where your enemy was through the narrow view.

I hope he does this one next instead of that Labyrinth unless he's contractually obliged to. Hell, I remember 9 years ago when he said that Nosferatu was his next gig, so...

I'm sure he can do a great job.

Medieval and Western genres are fine on home video/streaming and there are some gems, but safer in 2025 to make them on low budgets if going for a theatrical run as they are tough sells to audiences most times. Not enough fans show up in theaters to see those genre films.

Ari Aster of Hereditary/Midsommar is making a Western (completed maybe) after his unique last film in theaters had trouble finding an audience. Beau is Afraid.
