Ultra HD Blu-ray technical source information on blu-ray.com

Hey all

Where does blu-ray.com get it's source information for the Ultra HD Blu-ray titles from? e.g. For The Matrix 4K Blu-ray says this movie got it's 4K scan of the original camera negative ... Is this information publicly available or is it provided in Ultra HD Blu-ray retail box?

Any for source information for the scans that's not been mentioned in the blu-ray.com review, is there somewhere I can go to obtain this online?

Just genuinely intrigued as I'm quite big on if they're 2k DI's / upscales / native 4k etc ...

Most of the time it comes from the fact that a 4K remastering has been done for use in streaming and cinema, which is carried over to UHD-BD. Other times, it's simply in the press releases or packaging, information given out by industry professionals, or leaked from various sources.

As for DI you can find that on IMDb and what camera it was shot on. The early 1080p/2.5K camera stuff is highly unlikely to get much benefit on UHD detail-wise while the earlier film cameras footage can benefit greatly depending on how it is handled.
