Default Osgood Perkins imagines R-rated Darth Vader movie

I'm filing this under "please make my dreams come true Mr Perkins”

Even if Lucasfilm doesn't immediately warm up to the idea, putting an R-rated Star Wars into production seems like a great idea, the franchise needs something new and unexpected.

Not sure it needs an R rating, yet an Animated series with Vader's nightmare could be interesting. Or even something done from his perspective.

Another thing Hayden wasn't (besides accent and acting being subpar). Why was he picked again? Honestly Tom Hardy would've been perfect.

You and I clearly have a different idea of what "subpar" means....

I'd figure that most of Vader's nightmares involve sand.

It too decades just to get someone to say “s**t” in SW. This isn’t going anywhere.

Nobody in existence needs R rated Star Wars. If Revenge of the Sith wasn't R rated then none of them should be. It goes against the very nature of Star Wars. They gonna start dropping F bombs in a galaxy far far away now? Come on lol..

Andor already deviated from the "happy fairy tale" nature of the original saga that Lucas personally supervised.... regardless of rating, it was meant for a mature audience, not for little kids.

Eh. I don’t need or want an R rated Star Wars movie. PG-13 is good enough.

The storyboards of Rogue One were way more violent than what we see on screen.
Darth Vader was pretty angry right after Revenge of the Sith and we never got to see any of that anger until Rogue One, which was toned down of course.

Quote:
The action sequences filmed are unknown, but there was work pitching the different ways Darth Vader could kill rebels on a battlefield with the Force and his lightsaber. The storyboard “pitches” showed decapitated rebels, people being dismembered by Vader throwing his sword, levitating bodies to make human shields, and so on. The art was more violent than what we’ve seen Darth Vader do on screen before.'
Too bad that didn't translate to the screen

Osgood Perkins sounds like a comic book name.

I don’t want to see Darth Vader in live-action ever again. The character is played out and has had every gap of his backstory filled in across every medium. It’s absurd.

And “r-rated Vader movie” is the most Reddit fanboy shit of an idea.

Fair point

How about, in secret, Vader is tortured by Padme's ghost? Or does he have nightmares where he's a kid again, being chased by a Tusken Raider hunting party?

There’s tons of Darth Vader comics out there. He’s been explored enough as a character. He does not need a film. Besides James Earl Jones is no longer alive.
