I was surprised to see this has a demo on PSN.
It’s a pretty fun speed/efficiency platformer with hidden areas to explore. I guess it could be compared to Megaman X or maybe Velocity 2X (I’ve never played, but it looks similar). It’s quite challenging on the hardest difficulty. It took me awhile to get comfortable with the controls. Combat is snappy and puzzle-like with various shot-type and melee attacks, some of which are more effective against certain enemies. There’s an addictive directional shot that can be chained, wiping out every enemy in an area. Cobra’s dash phases through enemy attacks with tons of i-frames and it can be used stationary to dodge incoming fire. The enemy attacks are designed around it so the player has to be anticipating attacks and ready to use it liberally. It’s a fun demo that reminds me of the odd licensed 2.5D platformers we used to see during the PS3/360/Wii era. |

OK, I’m pretty addicted to this demo. I keep running it over and over again on Most Wanted. I’ve found a few short cuts and I love the platforming and puzzle-like enemy setups for chaining psycho shots. I wonder how much is going to change in the final version.

Some of the items, weapons, and traversal options appear to be locked in the demo. I assume the player will need to revisit stages with new abilities to reach these areas later.
I think it’s possible to play completely passive too. None of the enemies have to be killed to reach the end of the stage. I might try this next time I play the demo. |
