Default Should New Line Cinema reboot the "The Mask" franchise?

I think if they were to do that they need Christian Bale as Stanley Ipkiss.

I read the comic long before the movie came out and ruined it. The comic was REALLY dark and violent. The movie was too cartoony. I certainly don't advocate remakes or another movie at all, I just wish they would have gotten it right the first time.

The only way to reboot is to return to it's roots. It was supposed to be a dark almost-horror film before Jim Carrey came on board.

I loved the comic book, but I also liked the movie as well. If they remade it to be like the comic book, then that would be great imo.

I'm er....guessing he didn't.

Or, as to other attempts to reboot New Line Jim Carrey franchises without the expensive part, I'm guessing he didn't see "Dumb & Dumberer", either.

The only thing New Line needs to reboot is a ink pen so they can write a check to Tolkien's estate so they can make those damn "Hobbit" Movies.

That would be a "hell no" from me, too.

Even the first movie was ridiculous. It was too cartoonish and stupid to be suitable for adults, but too vulgar and full of bad innuendo to be appropriate for kids (nevermind the rating).

To think a high-caliber actor like Bale would come within 100 yards of that franchise... yikes.

Is that a real movie? I've never heard of it. I wouldn't exactly call the Mask "a franchise" either.

If they do it right I got no problem with it. Son of the Mask should never have been made. It was so out of the story line. The first one was the best but if they do a new one and get it right from scratch . . . I got no problem with it.

No No No, Christian Bale cant be everyone, hes Batman and he is also John Connor, you cant play so many roles. If they do do it, it will be really tough because people will still remember Jim doing it.
