Default Alvin & The Waterhorse -- any good?

Has anyone seen either "The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep" or "Alvin and the Chipmunks"? Because they are on my list of Blu's to buy in April. I wanted to see them in the theater but missed them. Was just curious if they would be worth the purchase. I don't know if I am going to be paying $26-27 for each title though. Thanks guys.

I haven't seen either of them but am considering "Alvin And The Chipmunks" just because I think it might be a fun movie to watch on Blu. But anyways here are the Rotten Tomatoes reviews for the two..

I wanted to see waterhorse simply because I've been fascinated with the lochness myths and all. And I've been an Alvin fan since I was a little kid so I am most likely picking that up
