Default Hows your Blu Ray Collection Coming along?

This is probably a question that is asked alot here.
But has anyone that had a nice size normal dvd collection
Sold them all and started a Nice blu ray collection?

I have over 100 normal dvds. and 10 blu ray
But i feel a Blu Ray addiction
I have a couple of blu rays that i already have in normal dvd
Now im thinking of selling some of my dvd collection or all to get more blu!!
I cant watch a normal dvd anymore

So has anyone ditched there collection of normals for blus?
Or thinking about it?

Damn, and I still havent finished replacing every VHS tape with DVD, now you are telling me I might have to do the same for DVD, and then do the same for Blu-ray? Man this is getting expensive!

Yikes. Not possible in my case. I have had a dvd addiction since they came out and have accumulated over 1400 titles. Most people can't comprehend how many that really is! 1400x$20 to replace with blu would be $28,000.... at least. Plus some alot of the dvds I have will never see bluray! I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth selling any of them or just keep the strength of the collection intact.

My bluray collection is building at almost the same rate as my dvds did. I am in serious trouble!!!! Should be near 120 now.

I own 769 units in the form of Digital Videa Discs (that includes my Blu-ray collection of 150+). I have Blu-rayed at least 30 of the SD DVD titles that I previously owned and have intentions to increase that by a minimum of thrice-fold by the end of 2009.

So... to answer your question...

My Blu-ray collection is coming along just fine.

Thank you for asking!

P.S. That 769 unit count takes television series seasons into account as 1 season = 1 unit (over 100 seasons in my collection)

I'm buying new released in BD. Some DVD's I'm already relaced in BD. In time I try replace my DVD's in HD-era.

Saddly msuic business is so far away. I buy lot of music. There are few music BD's.

I really don't buy SD dvd's anymore, unless they're kids DVD's that aren't on Blu (Dora, Diego, Einsteins, Disney, etc.)

I've got a little over 1000 SD DVD's, and replacing all of them will never happen. Honestly, I've gotten a bit more selective since the kids came along so I no longer buy movies simply because I haven't seen them.

As for selling my old DVDs, some will never go (at least until my favorites are on BD) because I don't really see the need to get "Son in Law" in HD. I'll replace my favorites of course, and try to sell the SD version. I've already sold a bunch of my SD stuff that's on BD (Potter, National Treasure, Narnia, etc) but I'm also going to be going through my collection and purging stuff I know I'll never watch again like the Butterfly Effect or whatever.

Theres a store by my house called Disc Replay...They buy and sell old & new dvds...cds...and video game stuff..I have sold them 10 dvds...2 cds..and a NES game--kid nikki lol But that right there gave me enough to buy i am legend on blu ray...i only have 10 so far...And yes...its silly to sell all that for just 1 blu ray...But i dont think i would watch those dvds and a normal dvd again anyways....
Its addicting...Kinda like a crackhead selling a big screen for some drugs.
You get ripped off...But you get what you want in the end...Well i guess the way i see it...I have only sold 10 dvds outta my collection..Just wondering what everyone is doing..You gotta rebuild sometimes. I just like to be safe.

I had a large colletion of DVDs. I sold all but 30 of them. I replaced many of them with Blu-ray/HD DVDs but this was back when BOGO where in style.

I now have 100 Blu-rays and 59 HD's... It's hard to watch standard definition anymore /

I'm slowly replacing all my DVDs with BD and buying a few new releases here and there. I'll probably just give away my DVDs to my family.
