Default Best Buy Removes All Hd DVD Movies

In a surprising move Mosaic came into the store today and packed up all HD DVD movies from the stores. According the Mosaic this is a nation wide move.

BLu Haze,

Best buy has you best interest in mind. See,.. they are trying to keep you from making mistakes.

I'm very happy about this because only HD DUD-ers that can read shop on Amazon and that's a very small percentage of HD DUD-ers.

On cue.

This is exactly what the employee notice posted said. A 30% markdown, and then a removal from the shelves by April.

What is "Mosaic" exactly?

Mosaic is a third party company that does a lot of merchandising for Best Buy. They come in, sort the movies, put up promo signs, etc.

Thanks. That is very interesting. I wonder if they use them here in Canada?

The signage is extensive related to new releases, sales, etc. Far better than at their sister store (Future Shop), which would seem to indicate they are using imported signage.

That's surprising. I would think they'd want to get what they can with the stock they have. Perhaps Best Buy worked out a deal with the distributors to get some money back. Either that or they really wanted to push Blu even harder, which would be great!

I noticed yesterday they had them all at 30% off, but if they remove them that's just more space for blus!

Did they go back to the studios for redistribution, or go to the dumpster?

Perhaps a few of you recall the IBM PC Jr of the 1980's and that horrid "chicklet" keyboard. Though they replaced it with a better traditional keyboard, I read that tons of the old ones ended up in a big hole in some landfill.

I think Radio Shack sold some of them as parts for a while.
