Default Movie Mistakes

There are a lot of movies out there that have mistakes in them, even the best films. What are some mistakes in movies that yoy have noticed?

I noticed in T2 when Arnold is fighting the T1000 in the hallway in the Arcade scene when he sings the T1000 into the wall if you look close the wall actually kinda starts to break before he even hits it.

same can be said of the glass enclosure at the start of fifth element, before she punches it you can see the outline where it breaks.

also i just noticed yesterday watching POTC3 that the little boy that sings before he is hung, in the close up of his face you can see braces on his teeth. pirate dentists maybe?

stargate ark of truth after teal'c is lying face down in mud he stands up and has like the smallest little bit of mud on him.

I don't think any film is without some kind of error.

Lawrence of Arabia - When Lawrence first goes into the desert, his Arab guide and he are sitting by a camp fire at night. The guide asks Lawrence about the country he comes from. After this it shows the night sky above them. You see the Milky Way and stars twinkling. You also see the crescent moon. The moon is lit from above rather than below. The moon cannot be lit from above except in the daytime. If the earth were eclipsing the moon, it would look differently than as it appears in the film.

One of my favorite films, Tabor Ukhodit v Nebo, has horrendous playback dubbing in the songs sung by Gregori Grigoriu. (Dubbing in other songs is better.) They should have just had his mouth shut and placed the song over the action. This is partly due to the fact that in the Soviet Russia they did not have the technology and knowhow available in the West (especially Hollywood). One must look past this to appreciate the film. Almost all Russian films of this era have bad dubbing. In Russia during the U.S.S.R. era, for the major films the studios would import Mitchell cameras and lenses from America.

There are a few in "First Blood"

when the police car drives thru the slop, the windshield gets wet (you can see it).
But in the next scene it´s all very dry...

Although I would hardly consider it one of the best,
there was a scene in Pee Wee's Big Adventure I always thought humorous.

When he's locking up his bike, pulling the never ending chain.
You can clearly see it beeing fed through the bottom of his bike. lol

In my opinion, nothing beats the stormtrooper hitting his head in A New Hope.

Classic.

I like when Paulie eats his cigar (or it magically disappears), in Goodfellas.

A New Hope is chock full of them. The one I picked up on first was the objects moving around on the table from moment to moment in Ben Kenobi's home when Luke first uses the lightsaber.

Also, when Pee Wee is driving during the middle of the night and getting drowsy, you can see the passing road signs rolling by on tracks.

FYI: Tim Burton knew about these mistakes and intentionally left them in the film as an artistic choice. He explains that on the commentary track.

I will never ever believe that that is true.

probably just didn't notice at the time. if he noticed a mistake in his shot... well I'm not really sure what it has to do with artistic choice to not fix something that's a mistake.

I can't read this thread. It takes the magic out of the movie.

Well, I'll tell you what.

I like the magic just where it is.

It's not like I try to look for errors in movies. They just have a way of showing themselves. I think it's good to spot them, as IMDb does. It raises the bar for filmmakers, though frankly, it doesn't look like filmmakers care too much about it.

Also in T2, when the T1000 is chasing John with the 18 wheeler. When the truck jumps into teh ditch (whatever they are called), the windsheild comes out. The whole piece. Just a little later in the chase, the T1000 is seen knocking the windsheild out with his hand.
