Casino Royale to be exact...the Bluray Disc is fine. I had to pull it to see if it was damaged also. Luckily i had a blank Blu case, in the future if this happens again should i just return it? Watched just a little of Casino Royale but it looks georgeous from PQ stand point.

In the future I'd return it for another in a heartbeat. You didn't just pay for the movie you paid for the case as well.

I ordered some Harry Potter DVD's from Amazon a couple of years ago, right after GOF opened in theaters, and the cases were pretty much destroyed. The plastic disc holders in the digipaks were all broken and couldn't hold the dvd's. It didn't look like something that would have happened in shipping, it looked like something someone would do intentionally. I'd never had anything like that happen before or since. Anyway, I returned them to Amazon and got new copies.

I'm probably in the minority, but I'd honestly just order a few extras from sleevetown or something like that for the future (since case breakages are pretty rare IMO).
I'm just too impatient to have to go through the whole return and reship process when I could just slap a new one on for .75 cents. And yes, I understand the entire "getting what I paid for" thing -- I just figure there's more important things to worry about. ![]() |

I've had this happen on a couple occasions with Amazon. I contacted them and told them what was up (thru their online support inquiry page) ... within the same day they sent me replacements and a return shipping label for the defective ones.

And as far as amazon, I've never (that I remember) had an issue in years of shipping with them. If they do send a new copy before they expect you to return the damaged one though, there's no reason not to get a new one sent. |

I have a question about this kind of thing.
A little over a week ago I received an order of 2 Blu-Ray movies (Dan in Real Life and Enchanted, to be exact) and the DVD of South Park Imaginationland. In the case of South Park, the DVD has a cardboard slipcover over it. And it's not a typcial slip cover where it's just the same art that's already on the box. Rather, it sort of compliments that are that's already on the box (there's an open 'window' on it to still see part of the existing box art). Anyway, that slip cover was pretty beat up, and I was pretty ticked off about it. I wanted to call up and see about a replacement, but I figured they'd give me a bunch of crap over it. Is this something that Amazon would replace? I'm also concerned about ending up on some kind of customer s**t list with Amazon as I've had a couple of issues with them between late last year and now (none of which were my fault). Back in December, I had ordered a 60GB PS3 from their Warehouse Deals subsidiary website (which all still goes through Amazon's customer service for issues related to it). It was technically a refurbed unit. Well, the system died on me the first day having it with a Blu-Ray movie inside of it (TMNT to be specific, which I was using to test it out), and it couldn't be ejected. And I (politely, but firmly) gave some crap to the customer service department about this, because the story on how this was going to be handled kept changing. Long story short, my credit card was refunded for the price of the system and the original shipping, and I received an Amazon credit for the amount of my return shipping from UPS and the price to replace the TMNT Blu-Ray (which I had luckily ordered through Amazon originally, so they were able to see the proof that I got it from them). Then back in February, I had ordered a few DVDs from them, which I never received so I called up customer service. Apparently at some point USPS attempted delivery according to the tracking, but they left no note indicating that they had done this, and at the time I called it was over a week since this had occurred. The lady on the other end suggested that I go to the post office, but I told her that it's been so long they may have already sent it back, and even if the package was still there, I'm not entirely sure where the main local post office is at that my mail comes from (when/if I need to go to a post office, there are others that I use closer to where I work, plus I think the one that my mail comes from is in an area that I'd rather avoid going to). So, I had them reship one of the items and refund the others (which I decided not to bother with). I did get the replacement package and the original one was eventually received back. But after all of that, I wonder if complaining about this cover would put me on some bad customer list. I'm not trying to be difficult, I just want what I paid for in good condition and functional. |
