Default BD vs. HD-DVD 12pm @ CES

From the CES 2007 program...

Quote:
Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD and the winner is...
Noon-1pm Monday January 8
LVCC North Hall N254

Top retailers and analysts report on how the competing high-def disc players are fairing in the market and offer their predictions on which format will win the war. Panelists also explore the impact of on-demand services on the new format.

Moderator: Paul Sweeting, Columnist, Variety

Panelist: Robert Zohn, Value Electronics

Panelist: Ben Keen, Chief Analyst, Screen Digest

Panelist: Steve Nickerson, SVP of Market Management, Warner Home Video

Panelist: Andy Parson, Senior Vice President, Product Development, Pioneer and Chairman, U.S. Promotion Committee, Blu-ray Disc Association
Looks like the showdown will be at high-noon. Nice to see Blu-Ray has good representation, while it appears HD-DVD has very little...doh!

That's strange, I'd swear that the last time I looked there were more HD DVD panelists. Where did they go?

Mulder!

Well, it's entirely possible that there will be more or different panelists. My guess, is that they published this pretty far in advance and they may not have had all of the names yet. I guess I wouldn't be surprised if it changes a bit.

I hope andy brings up the fact that anything HD-DVD can do, Blu-ray can do, but better. 50>30. And that fanatics are doing more harm then good. Will there be a video or transcript of the event? KICK HIS ASS, SEABASS (or in this case, Andy Parsons!)

I'm sure it'll go down to same "We dont' need extra capacity, we dont' need extra bandwidth" thing, since for today they can't really claim HD DVD is cheaper. Though most likely there will be lots of FUD and misinformation as well.
