Default if you had $2k, what would u get?

I've been searching around and looking at some suggestions others have given me, but would like more input.

I have around 1500-2000 to spend, i can go higher if it's worth it, and i really don't want anything under 50" or over 55".

I don't care if it's plasma or lcd, both are incredible imo. But do prefer it to be 1080p (want the most out of my blu-ray)

I'd like to stay away from toshiba, since the tv i have right now likes to blow bulbs like it's nobodys buisness (and others have had the same problem). So i'd like to stay away from their products.

Samsung PN50A550 best thing below pioneer plasma in my opinion.

http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-t...-32887581.html

Better rated than all panasonics.

Personally for that money I'd pick up a Panasonic plasma (which can be had in that price range) or one of the remaining SXRD rear pros from Sony.

I have a Panasonic TH-50PZ700U and I think you can get them for almost $2000 US nowadays. Pioneers are the best but in that price range you can get a 1080P Panny or a 720P Pioneer. I'd go with the 1080P personally. My in-laws have the Pioneer and it has a great picture, but my Panny has just as good of a picture and when you watch blu-rays up close on mine it looks better.

well, I can understand your position...

then for your budget Id consider:

Sony KDS-60A3000

...or even Pansonic plasma like the one mentioned is good quality.

With your price range you can't get a Pioneer plasma. That's not that bad though, especially if you do any gaming. LCD is good for gaming and movies too. With your budget, I would look at the 46" and 52" Sony Bravia XBR4.
