Default Sony Gamer's Day - May 6th

Quote:
PLAYSTATION®3 has an incredible line up of EXCLUSIVE games in 2008. With the ultra-realistic and jaw dropping GT5 Prologue just released, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is only around the corner and must be seen to be believed. Later on in the year, you can expect to see the amazing Killzone 2, the highly imaginative Little Big Planet, MotorStorm 2, and Resistance 2. Or play sofa vs sofa anyone in the world with Buzz Quiz TV. Of course, all these games can be played online without another cent to spend.
GT5: the ultra-realistic and jaw dropping ? True
MGS 4 : must be seen to be believed ? True
Little Big Planet : highly imaginative ? True
Killzone 2: amazing ? believe

This is going to be a great year for PS3. I do not regret my choice at all. I'm still enjoying GT5. It's absolutly amazing.

It's funny.....I seriously thought 2008 was going to be better than that.

If Killzone 2 is really as big as I think it could be....maybe it makes up for FF13 not making this year. Now if a FF13 was released in Japan by the end of the year......I think it will help the imagine of PS3 more than anything else (aside from MGS4 finally releasing).

Either way, with Gears of War 2 hitting and Ninja Gaiden 2 hitting at the same time as MGS4.....PS3's lineup is not all that impresive as it was once thought of. Last year at this time we all saw and expected 2008 to include FF13, Home, maybe God Of War, KillZone, Little Big Planet, the final GT5......now Home has been delayed, God Of War announced for 2009, FF13 basically announced for 2009, GT5 announced for 2009......others have a tentative release date which if we go by Sony's recent track record those could all be pushed to 2009 (Killzone 2, Little Big Planet, and even Resistance Fall of Man 2 could be delayed)

they would probably listed the top games made by sony for 2008, final fantasy is made by square, and this is probably not a full list.

Do not jump up and down to quickly fellow blu-ray supporter.

I think Sony has a very strong lineup this year. I've never been a Final Fantasy guy, so I don't miss it at all. I do understand it's important to Sony's lineup though.

Killzone 2 is set for November, along with Resistance 2, and I don't think they'll be overshadowed at all by Gears of War 2 and Ninja Gaiden 2. No way. PS3 will pick up a huge amount of steam with GTA IV's release next week. Analysts are saying it will drive a large number of console sales for PS3, because a large number of GTA fans were Playstation exclusive. It won't necessarily surpass GTA IV sales on 360, but it will drive more console sales for PS3.

Following GTAIV up with the uber-exclusive Metal Gear Solid 4 is huge. Metal Gear is another proven console seller, and MGS4 will be one of the biggest games exclusive to PS3. Schedule wise, I think MGS4's arrival will largely go unanswered on the 360 side.

Heading into the fall holiday season with Home, Little Big Planet, Resistance 2, and Killzone 2 will be huge. I think the PS3 will gain significant ground on the 360's install base in the US. It will eclipse it worldwide though - that's a given. The only place the 360 has been successful is in the US.

My concern is this.....for all the touting of PS3 exclusives in 2008 we are now going to be at the midpoint of the year and we will only have MGS4 (a game that was supposed to be out last year) and GT5 Prologe. Prologe has been meet with harsh ratings from gamesites and many PS3 fans will wait till the final version comes out to buy it.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is a perfect game to release at MGS4 release. Although it's not top quality MGS4, it's still a big exclusive to have and will sell very well. Gears of War 2.......sorry Resistance doesn't compare. Now Killzone 2 has a chance but honestly word of mouth is going to make or break that game. I just don't know what to expect from it.

Home is not coming out in the fall either.....beta is barely going to start publicly. And that's assuming it's not pushed back again which is highly likely.

Overall the most important games are the big exclusives to disinguish it's self from the X360. Which Sony overall still has a lead in 2008 based on tentative release schedule....I was just expecting it to be bigger considering last year was so bad. Too bad Square can't get FF13 out....I'm telling you PS3 would start to outsell the Wii if it was released this year.

I just feel Sony's window to be really successful in the US is getting smaller and smaller. First 9 months of the year and all you are going to have released for the PS3 to distiguish itself from X360 is MGS4 and Gran Turismo P (basically demo of the real game). Not exactly a killer exclusive 2008 lineup if you ask me. Hopefully the last 3 months will be big.

No-ones actually judging the first-party games to be released this year by that initial post only are they? There's way more than that.
