Question Which is best?

I have just purchased a samsung LE40N87BDX 1080P television and I am wanting to get a bluray player, my question is which is best a playstation 3 or samsung bd-p1500. Can anybody give me some guidance please as I am a bluray virgin. I will also be looking for a surround sound system to go with it. If you have any advice it would be appreciated.

Thanks

I think your best bet would be a Playstation 3. Sony has a shown that they a willing and able to keep it at the forefront of bluray technology as it becomes available.

The new Panasonic DMP-BD30 is supposed to be pretty good.

I have a Sony s300 and it's slow as hell.

Do some research and watch these threads.

You'll be fine.

Later and have a great weekend.

The PS3 is the best blu-ray player at the moment. The Panasonic BD-30 is a good choice for a standalone and I think several here are looking forward to the BD-50. I don't know when that's going to be released but maybe someone here knows.

I know a lot of people will yell at me for saying this, but I'd go with Monster Cables as I have noticed difference regardless of my eye playing tricks on me.

Blu-Ray Player: PS3
Speakers: Klipsch Quintet III
Subwoofer: SVS PB10-NSD

Granted its the same as my setup so I'm biased, but I am also well informed about it too.

PS3 does all of this except for (**) and im not 100% positive that it does that either (*)

the ps3 a all-in-one entertainment
-with upgradeable harddrive

both are listed at the same price...

Recommendation: PlayStation 3 ( x infinite)

Until everything levels off, the PS3 is pretty much fool proof at this point.

Too many of us have been burned by slow load times, lack of Java compatibility, difficult firmware upgrades, hassles hassles hassles.

The PS3 is like a beautiful new friend who simply LIVES to make you smile.

The PS3 will take care of YOU.

Right now...best way to go although I keep reading excellent things about the new Panasonic.

Good luck and welcome to the party pal!!!
