Default Best low cost HTIB

Looking for a decent (read cheap) second system for the master bedroom. Interested in opinions. Don't want the built-in DVD -- I'll be using my s300 as the Blu-rayer when I upgrade my main system player.

Anyone?

I suppose under $500 would be my price range.

HT sr800? prolly the best one that i've seen for $450
sorry but you will not have DTS-MA on that thing, its receiver only does passthrough HDMI.
nonetheless, it's very powerful and great value for a HTIB

im totally against HTiBs... the performance to cost just isnt there... but if someone insisted on it...i would agree the Onkyo SR800 is the best for the money...if you got one from onkyo refurb...then thats even more bang-for-the buck.
for a couple hundred more you can get a nice 605/tSc or HTD set-up

The Onkyo seems to be well thought of here (well, as well thought of as HTIB can be!), so that might be worth investigating. Better yet, increase your budget a bit and go for separates.

Just my 2 cents, but I still think buying separate components is the best way to go. HTIB ar usually limited in what they do and most people I know who went that route wind up regretting it. I have always pieced out my systems. It may take a little longer but you wind up with a much better system.

With that being said, if you still want a HTIB I suggest checking Walmart.com. They have a lot to choose from.

here is a link to their HTIB systems.
