Default PS3 Volume

Just out of interest...when you guys watch a blu ray or dvd on your ps3 what setting do you have the PS3 volume set at? You know that little menu you can access when you press triangle? you can set it -2 thru + 2.

I keep mine set at 0. I was listening to a dts-CD last week and when I increased the volume to +1, the sound cut-out.

my ps3 came set as +2. It made CD's sound like crap!! Turn it to 0, let your receiver do the adjusting...not the PS3.

I also keep mine at 0. Within 2 months of the PS3's launch, I had upgraded to a bigger HDD, and imported nearly all of my CD collection to my PS3. When I started listening to the songs I noticed that the music sounded distorted, especially on the harder tunes. I thought I did something wrong when I imported the discs, or that maybe I should have copied them at a different frequency. Luckily, before I formatted the drive to start over (it took me a long fricken time) I checked the pop up menu and noticed that the volume was set to +2. Setting it to 0 fixed the problem with the sound, and I've left it there ever since

I have a question in regards to you putting your CD collection on the PS3. What size external hard drive did you use? How did you put your CD's on there? How long did it take you? I would love to do this, but I have no idea where to start.
Thanks for any info/instructions you could give me.

1. Place music cd in ps3
2. Go into your audio settings and pick which codec you want the ps3 to use and what freqency.
3. Go to your cd and hit triangle there should be a option for ripping the disc...
4. Wait...
5. Boyah you have the cd stored with your select codec at the set frequency place another disc and repeat step until your happy.

Based on the codec used and frequency will determine the size of a cd, I would imagine no less then 1mb-5mb.

Thanks. I didn't realize it was that easy. So how many can I put on there based on 40g HDD?
Thanks again.
