Anyone hear about "Orb" Audio? - Blu-ray Forum

I've been wanting to give these speakers a try for the longest time. However, I don't know anyone who has them or who have even heard them. Any feedback or does anyone have any friends with them?

There have been threads about them, all positive from what I remember. If they have a good return policy, and you've been tossing the idea around this long, I'd say pick them up and listen to them.

I've heard them in a demo room. They sounded good, but of course they can only sound SO good with their size. They sound better than bose and other things of similar size. So if you are constrained on space and like the look, I think they'd be worth it. Personally I like the sound of good bookshelves with a marginal size increase, or of course towers would be best with a huge size hit.

If they take returns, try them out. At least shipping them wouldn't be bad!

I've only heard good things about Orb Audio systems, but I have not personally heard them. From what I've read before, they sound much larger than their size. I've always been a bit leary of sub/sat systems where the sats are that small (at least they're spheres and not cubes), but I remember reading a bench test showing the frequency range was accurately represented.

If you have a small area to work with, or dislike traditional speaker sizes, give them a try. It would certainly be better than hanging itty bitty cubes all around your room.

I have heard them in a demo room before and they did sound good, but for the money I'd go with the B&W M-1 satellites. Those were actually very impressive.
