Wink Amazing picture quality of blu-ray!!!

I was at best buy and they where displaying there $1,000 blu-ray player and it looked absolutely amazing the picture was in 1080p not 1080i 1080p is the highest resolution available today and it is twice as clear as 1080i. The picture quality of the machine got me starring at it for hours at best buy I was so blown away. I just wish the players where cheaper so I could afford to buy one.

....look I like Blu-Ray as much as anyone but 1080p is not "twice as clear" as 1080i; a lot of people probably wouldn't even notice a difference on most TVs.

As for a cheaper player, the PS3 can be had for $499 and it does 1080p.

You can pick up a PS3 for $499, it's an amazing Blu-ray player and game machine.

They're just pulling your HDMI cord. We've all been there and had the same thing happen. I think the newer 1080p sets look much better than the older HDTV sets. That may be what you saw.

Watching a standard TV signal looks so bad after seeing that much HD. It wears off very slowly.

1080p vs. 1080i? It all depends on the signal source... if BB is trying to sell 1080p sets, I would bet that the source was a fast moving high action sequence. If that is what they were doing, and using a TV with a crappy de-interlacer for the 1080i, sure, you can notice a difference
