Default The Day After Tomorrow is Ten Times Better than Twister

My point is after watching Twister i think it totally sucked. Some of these reviewers gave Twister a better score than it deserves. I thought the Audio which should have Twisters selling point was very average to say the least. I have heard alot better sound on average Blurays. The sonics in the Day After Tomorrow completely blows Twister's presentation out of the water. Twister is one of the few movies i have in my Bluray collection that i will probably never watch again...once is enough!

This is like arguing who played a better Super Bowl the Patriots in Super Bowl XX or the Chargers in Super Bowl XXIV...

I am not a big fan of either of these movies...

Totally agree. DAT created an awareness about Global Warming which is a global issue. It boasts better PQ and SQ than Twister period.

I watch twister only because it's one of my favorite movies. I kind of agree with you on pq and aq though. But I still like the aq on twister better.

DAT BD trounces the waxy looking Twister BD by miles.

Hard to comment not knowing the equipment used, especially for the audio, since I'm curious. Both sounded pretty darn good on my end.

you try telling people who live in tornado alley like myself that tornado awareness isn't as important to them as global warming is....

also day after tomorrow is not talking about global warming...seeing as global warming is an event that is slowly melting away the ice caps and in the day after tomorrow they enter a new ice age.......maybe global cooling!

however on to the movies. I like twister...i like day after tomorrow. both offer good story lines! Both not scientifically correct, but who cares it's a movie, both offer great sound and decent PQ. Twister is far more believeable though! Anyone here been on a storm chase? I have, scary stuff Twister at least captures the essence of the chase!

As far as PQ, of course Day After wins hands down. AQ is about the same. Twister though has a more believable story (which admittedly isn't saying much) and is filled with buckets more wit and humor - elements that Day After is virtually devoid of.

I seen both and I think Twister is a better movie in general, def. better acting and not as cheesy dialog (as the DAT can get a little cheesy like most of Rolands work). Twister at its time of release, blew me away with its special affects and they still look pretty good in my opinion today from a movie shot around 1995-1996.

I thought the Day After Tomorrow was absolutely horrendous! It ranked up there with The Core in terms of completely taking a crap on elementary physics and letting Hollywood dreamers having their way...

oh, please, go watch a show on TLC or discovery channel about it. DAT is accurate, global warming causes the ice caps to melt which shuts down the underwater ocean currents which leads to the new ice age.

I also hear that solar variations are causes of global warming too. The whole global warming is a big get rich money grab. Do I think the planet is warming? Yes. DO I think we are responsible? No. We may make a very small impact but the sun is the ultimate cause.

TDAT addresses how the effects of "global warming" can actually trigger an ice age as depicted in the film. I think the Dennis Quaid character talks about it in the scene at the global warming summit near the beginning of the movie.

Hahaha. Let me first say that the title of this thread made me come here and actually WANT to leave a ridiculous comment...that being said....this is basically like me saying that Iron Man is better than...oh...I don't know...I'll go with Hairspray. I am going to start a thread..."Iron Man is Ten Times Better Than Hairspray". Apples to oranges my friend.

Now...as to why I quoted this....Global Warming is a gimmick. The world however, is kind of like a computer. The more ya mess with it....the more that goes wrong.

Movie goers love disaster flicks. Especially when they are epic or of biblical proportions. I think some people read the bible just for the smitings.
